WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER


The Donor Communications Officer writes and edits a variety of materials for the California Chapter’s major donor audience, with a special emphasis on individual donors. Projects include funding proposals, stewardship reports, letters of intent, concept papers, fact sheets, case statements, and other communications that demonstrate the impact of TNC’s conservation work. The Donor Communications Officer collaborates with fundraisers to understand donor needs, interviews conservation staff and scientists to find compelling stories, and synthesizes complex concepts into language that resonates with donors and other stakeholders. In addition to being a skilled writer and editor, the Donor Communications Officer must be able to collaborate across teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and solve problems proactively.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and five years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience writing and editing proposals, grants, reports, fact sheets, nonfiction for print and/or web, campaign brochures or similar materials.
  • Experience writing for diverse audiences, including donors, board members, media, policy makers, the public or similar.
  • Journalism or creative writing skills are a plus.
