The Climate Mitigation Program Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of administrative and program activities in support of the North America Climate Mitigation Program (Program). The Program, which consists of three strategies – Natural Climate Solutions, US Climate Action Policy and Renewable Energy Deployment – is working to advance durable, equitable, science-based policies and practices that enable a net-zero future by mid-century.

The Climate Mitigation Program Coordinator will be responsible for performing multiple administrative functions, including team communications, network management, logistical, administrative and technical support in the planning and execution of virtual and in-person team meetings, and other team and program administrative support. They will use available systems and resources to maintain, track, and research data, and to produce and review reports. They will apply established processes and practices to improve effectiveness and to document program procedures for reference by staff. They will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the Program Director and other senior staff, as needed, including calendaring, expense reports, arranging domestic and international travel, and providing general administrative assistance. The Coordinator may handle inquiries about Program activities and assist in the development of program materials and correspondence. They will work cooperatively with Conservancy staff, providing information necessary to make decisions and solve problems. The Coordinator may communicate on behalf of their supervisor with internal and external sources, including staff, donors, vendors, and businesses in order to coordinate arrangements, convey information, and ensure successful execution of program.

The location for this position is flexible and includes any area in the U.S. where The Nature Conservancy has permission to work. The majority of team members work in the Eastern Time Zone, with other team members across the United States. This position may include occasional travel, overtime, and evenings and weekends. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain. The Climate Mitigation Program Coordinator position will sit in the North America Climate Mitigation Program within North America Policy and Government Relations, reporting to the Climate Mitigation Program Manager.

What You’ll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-year experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience performing one or more administrative processes.
  • Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.

Desired Qualifications

  • Database skills, including managing and tracking data, and producing reports.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Salary Information:

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $25.00 - $33.50 hourly. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
