WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Nature Conservancy envisions a future where communities and nature thrive together—and our brand plays a vital role in helping bring that vision to life. As we enter our 75th year, TNC is working across more than 80 countries and all 50 U.S. states to address the climate crisis, protect nature, and support communities around the world.
The Senior Director of Brand Marketing will lead the development and execution of TNC’s global brand strategy—guiding how we show up across campaigns, events, partnerships, and activations. We’re looking for a strategic, creative thinker who gets energy from big ideas, crisp execution, and the power of collaboration. If you love connecting people to purpose—and building joyful, consistent, and mission-aligned brand experiences—this might be the role for you.
You’ll lead a unified Brand Marketing team that includes Creative and Campaigns, Strategic Events, Cause Marketing and Brand Partnerships, and Workplace Giving. You will deliver both restricted and unrestricted revenue by turning brand partnerships and cause marketing into engines of support for conservation worldwide.
And as a member of the Marketing and Communications Leadership Team (MACLT), you’ll shape TNC’s enterprise-wide brand strategy and elevate how people everywhere engage with our work and values.
The Senior Director of Brand Marketing leads the charge on developing and executing a global brand strategy that brings TNC’s mission to life—and ensures our brand shows up with clarity, consistency, and heart across every platform and audience.
A big part of this role is heading up our Cause Marketing and Brand Partnerships work—an essential engine that helps fuel our mission. You’ll guide a talented team focused on building creative, purpose-driven partnerships with aligned companies, including sponsorships, licensing deals, and co-branded campaigns. These collaborations bring in revenue, expand our reach, and harness the power of our brand to tell stories that inspire and advance shared conservation goals.
You’ll also oversee TNC’s Workplace Giving and Matching Gifts programs—offering employees and companies meaningful ways to connect with our mission and using the strength of our brand to contribute to our revenue goals. That means evaluating what’s working, spotting new opportunities, and leading smart, scalable strategies to grow these programs.
You’ll bring creative leadership to our brand activations, guiding campaigns, branded events, and public engagement moments that connect people to our purpose. From first insight to final rollout, you’ll make sure every brand expression reflects who we are, what we stand for, and the change we’re working to create. You’ll also partner closely with teams around the world to ensure brand activations resonate locally and deliver on regional goals for revenue and reach.
And when it comes to public figures, you’ll play a key role in helping us show up at the right moments with the right voices—collaborating with global colleagues to bring in authentic messengers who elevate our message and broaden our audience. You’ll also conceive and execute high-profile events around the world, shaping everything from themes and experiences to logistics and guest engagement. These events will be designed to deepen connection to our mission, generate revenue, and create moments that people remember and share.
As the Senior Director, Brand Marketing, you will:
- Lead a unified Brand Marketing team across creative campaigns, strategic events, and brand partnerships.
- Develop and steward a global brand strategy that reflects TNC’s values, advances our mission, and supports organizational goals.
- Oversee the design and execution of audience-driven integrated marketing campaigns that build awareness, increase engagement, expand influence and generate support.
- Provide strategic leadership for the Cause Marketing and Brand Partnerships team, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals and brand clarity.
- Meet annual revenue targets for unrestricted and restricted revenue.
- Guide the creation of sponsorship platforms and marketing programs with corporate partners that reflect TNC’s mission and generate financial and reputational value.
- Ensure brand efforts are grounded in insight, creative thinking, and a shared narrative that reflects “Together, We Find a Way.”
- Partner closely with fundraising and corporate engagement colleagues to ensure brand alignment and unlock partnership opportunities.
- Support ambassador and public figure engagement where it enhances our brand and mission, in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Work with regional and global marketing teams to ensure brand consistency across TNC’s international presence—while leaving room for local relevance and creativity.
- Set clear objectives and key results for brand marketing initiatives; monitor brand performance and apply insights to refine future strategy.
- Manage complex budgets and allocate resources thoughtfully and strategically.
- Serve as a member of the Marketing and Communications Leadership Team (MACLT) and contribute to organization-wide strategic planning, creativity, and collaboration. Develop thoughtful, collaborative partnerships with each MACLT member to understand how teams interact, and how to support and motivate multi-disciplinary groups working together towards our shared goals.
- Create space for joy, curiosity, and creativity—fostering a team culture where bold ideas thrive, work feels meaningful, and fun has a seat at the table.
