WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
As the Content and PR Specialist, you will write and edit a variety of internally and externally facing content, build and manage our relationships with members of the media, implement effective communications and media tactics and support our climate and conservation policy communications efforts in close collaboration with the Policy and Government Relations team, particularly social media (paid and organic), web and email. You will help to facilitate ongoing communication between all parts of the globally dispersed marketing division, internal and external stakeholders and identify communication and media needs and opportunities. You will develop speeches, key messages and talking points, as needed, actively identify target audiences, and cultivate media contacts on a local and national level, develop and foster relations with key stakeholders and media contacts and manage the dissemination of media information. This role will manage a variety of platforms and tools to communicate to targeted audiences both internal and external and use a variety of tools to track and measure campaign effectiveness. This is a hybrid position based in Florida and mainly conducted from your home office, with occasional travel (< 10%) for in-person meetings and conservation projects. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications in Florida and is part of a four-person team.
As our Content and PR Specialist, you will:
- Develop and manage media relations efforts, including the creation of media relations plans and outreach materials in close collaboration with other team members.
- Serve as team lead on Policy and Government Relations communications, particularly content development for web, social media or other digital platforms.
- Lead the collection, development and editing of internally and externally facing content in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.
- May supervise one or more external contractors.
- Manage assigned budget, evaluate results and develop recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Responsibility and accountability for meeting project goals and objectives.
- Resolves issues independently within program area.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
You have all of these:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
- Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.
- Experience writing, editing, and proofreading.
You have all or some of these:
- Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
- Experience implementing and measuring communication and engagement plans/strategies.
- Experience developing media relations networks.
- Experience in government relations and policy communications.
- Working understanding of environmental policy issues on a local and/or national level.
- Familiarity with communication technologies and best practices.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in relevant discipline.
- Experience leading or managing projects.
