WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Donor Communications Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting in the development and drafting of communications and fundraising materials and high-level correspondence tailored to principal gifts donors interested in supporting The Nature Conservancy’s global conservation priorities. The position reports to the Director, Donor Communications, Global Wealth Markets. The Global Wealth Markets are dispersed teams based in New York City, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Cape Town, and other major U.S. cities that strategically align fundraising opportunities and needs across the international organization to increase resourcing for conservation and climate work at a global scale.
Combining strong writing skills with excellent project management and organizational skills, the Donor Communications Specialist will write and edit a suite of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship materials on a range of conservation and climate regions and initiatives to accelerate fundraising for global work. The Donor Communications Specialist will work within the Global Wealth Markets team to support outreach and strategies that advance resourcing for TNC’s highest conservation priorities. The Donor Communications Specialist will provide project management on deadline-driven productions, editorial advice, and oversee multi-team coordination to produce material that is compelling and accurate. Products may include proposals to individual or foundation supporters, stewardship reports, fact sheets on conservation initiatives, annual reports, website copy, high-level letters/emails/invitation language, and PowerPoint presentations.
The Donor Communications Specialist collaborates closely with other team members within Donor Communications, the Global Wealth Markets Team, and Regional Communications Teams (teams focused on Africa, Latin America, Asia Pacific, India, the Caribbean, Europe, and North America). This position supports the Director and Assistant Director of Global Wealth Markets Donor Communications as needed regarding strategy, project management and internal coordination. They will assist in developing material for external audiences, possibly working with fundraisers, senior leadership, finance staff, contract writers and designers.
The Donor Communications Specialist maintains up-to-date knowledge of donor communications tools, practices, language, trends, and design knowledge and TNC’s priority language to help advance the organization’s fundraising goals.

The salary range for this position with a New York, NY work location is $84,000 to 100,000. Salaries ranges for other work locations outside of NYC, will vary, depending upon location.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
- Experience writing or editing, producing content, drafting persuasive language, synthesizing wide-ranging information on topics.
- Experience producing one or more of the following deadline-driven products: newsletter, magazine, annual report, website articles/stories, high-level correspondence, campaign material, funding proposals, fact sheets, presentations, or equivalent.
- Experience organizing and coordinating multiple deadline-driven projects with various staff.
- Experience working across departments, branches, and countries.
- Experience with current programs/software for writing, editing, document-sharing, PowerPoint, photos, design, and short videos.
- Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of a relevant field.
