The Climate Program is working at the nexus of climate and land use to create a resilient California and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in ways that deploy and benefit nature. Our multi-disciplinary team employs a variety of innovative strategies to protect and restore key habitats, defragment landscapes, help California meet its ambitious decarbonization goals, and enhance community and ecosystem resilience in the face of climate impacts. We do this by developing ground-breaking science, through policy engagements, by influencing housing and infrastructure planning and development, through on-the-ground demonstration projects, and through partnerships with a broad array of agencies and stakeholders.
