What We Can Achieve Together :
The South Kohala Partnerships Manager (SKPM) develops, manages and advances conservation programs, plans and methods for The Nature Conservancy and partners in South Kohala, Hawai‘ i Island. The SKPM provides technical leadership and support to the 70+ member organizations of the South Kohala Coastal Partnership by planning, directing and implementing coastal management projects and stewardship. They further the implementation of the South Kohala Coastal Action Plan 2030 towards the shared vision of “a restored, healthy, abundant, resilient South Kohala coastal system, cared for and cherished by an island community, guided by the values and traditions of South Kohala.” The SKPM coordinates the Partnership, including all-partner gatherings, strategy team meetings, ecological monitoring, habitat restoration, wastewater management solutions, permits and compliance, and outreach. They foster cross-site learning locally and globally to catalyze conservation project success and address critical threats to natural systems and individual species.
May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.

We’re looking for a passionate, dedicated person to be a leader in our Hawai‘ i Island Marine Program and work within our Hawai‘ i and Palmyra business unit and Pacific division. Not only will you fulfill conservation objectives on Hawai ʻi Island , but you’ll contribute to conservation goals through many networks. Whole systems leadership, creativity, community relationships, facilitation and planning skills, and the ability to influence without authority are key in this role. Come join TNC and apply today! What You’ll Bring :
BA/BS in natural resources or environmental management, marine science, ecology, biology, urban and regional planning, or law or business degree and 5 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience (an equivalent years of work experience would be 1:1 education to work experience i.e. 9 years' work experience).
Experience negotiating complex agreements.
Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance.
Experience and proven ability to develop and manage multiple complex projects in partnership with others, including staffing, workloads and finances under deadlines with a team.
E xperience working with Indigenous and local communities and government agencies on marine and coastal conservation in Hawai‘i, and familiarity with cultural, social, economic, and political conditions and issues in Hawai‘i.
Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web Browsers and other programs to meet organizational needs.

Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $65,450 to $75,450 . This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
