As part of the communications team, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator implements communication and/or media tactics by providing production, administrative and programmatic support to the Massachusetts Chapter, in alignment with TNC’s North American Marketing and Communications team (MAC) and the Marketing Resource Center (MRC). They are responsible for developing a variety of content for use in web stories, reports, social media, and development materials, maintaining marketing assets and materials, and distributing relevant communication and/or media materials. They make recommendations for new audience targets and conservation messages and assist the marketing team with execution of communication strategies. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator tracks results of program initiatives and reports findings and helps facilitate and coordinate ongoing communication between all parts of the globally dispersed marketing division, internal and external stakeholders.

The Massachusetts Chapter believes in flexibility and as such, team members are working in a hybrid model. This position is part time (21 hours/week) and is remote or hybrid, with the option of working some hours from our TNC office in Boston, with the expectation of in-person workdays and meetings on a regular basis (including a minimum of 1x/month in the Boston office). The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and excited about amplifying TNC in MA’s messaging, as part of a state that is a global model for the world in addressing the impacts of the climate and biodiversity crisis. The ideal candidate would have a familiarity with best practices, emerging and evolving trends and technologies, and a willingness to learn new skills. Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences appreciated, as is an inclusive mindset. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Writing and storytelling: Produces a variety of content for web, social, and administrative needs, including writing proposals and reports for a Massachusetts donor base.
  • Social media production and management: Creates content for and manages social media accounts with an eye toward increasing engagement and raising visibility with new audiences.
  • Asset management: Manages storage and distribution of media/communication assets, including videos, photos, and print materials, using existing tools.
  • Project management: Works with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables, including coordinating projects and managing timelines, and supporting virtual and in-person events.
  • Collaboration: Communicates regularly with team members to ensure message and content alignment across all TNC in Massachusetts platforms and publications.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum 2 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience coordinating and producing projects and materials independently, using established guidelines.
  • Excellent writing, organization, presentation, and communication skills.

SALARY INFORMATION


The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $31.00 - $38.00/hour. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
