YOUR POSITION WITH TNC

This position sits within the Marketing and Communications Division on the digital team, which is responsible for communicating TNC’s mission and work through digital channels. This role will support Conservation and Science content via the flagship science and conservation website, Conservation Gateway, that is re-launching in December 2025.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

In this role, the Web Production Specialist will manage, produce, publish and provide governance for web content on Conservation Gateway including editing and creating new articles based off a pre-determined web content strategy. The Web Production Specialist works closely with various stakeholders throughout TNC such as conservation, science, marketing and communications staff , program or project leads, and vendors to manage all phases of web content production and to improve the holistic user experience and journeys for the conservation and science practitioner audience. The Web Production Specialist is responsible for managing and implementing content migrations from various internal and external web platforms to Conservation Gateway. This position reports to the Associate Director of Web within the global digital team, with dotted-line reporting to the Conservation Gateway Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

  • Works closely with the Conservation Gateway Manager and other internal stakeholders to create and edit web content for Conservation Gateway.

  • Coordinates with internal staff on content updates and maintenance of the website.

  • Manages content migration from various internal and external web platforms to TNC’s flagship websites. Makes recommendations about content placement to optimize usability.

  • Organizes, manages and coordinates diverse web projects and activities with many variables. Maintains a dashboard of project assignments for the website.

  • Manages analytics for the site and monitors site health metrics and analyzes trends to recommend site enhancements to leadership based on data-driven decision making .

  • Coordinates with Technology, UX, Analytics and SEO team members to implement strategic recommendations on web content production needs and to enhance or optimize the website.

  • Develops communications and presentations as needed for internal staff on project and system updates.

  • Manages quality assurance and publishing for the website within established guidelines.

  • Ensures web content adheres to industry best practices and TNC standards.

  • Does not supervise any staff but will coordinate the work of peers on departmental project teams. May supervise volunteers, interns, contractors or temporary staff.

  • Works within a budget to complete a project.

  • Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.

  • Opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks and projects. May have full opportunity to direct individual projects.

  • Some occasional travel may be required.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience cultivating and managing client/customer relationships.

  • Experience writing, editing and proofreading.

  • Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience creating and editing content in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar enterprise content management system.

  • Solid knowledge of digital marketing principles.

  • Knowledge of web content and user experience (UX) best practices.

  • Ability to maintain multiple projects at the same time.

  • Effectively prioritizes projects and workflows.

  • Experience with web analytics, data-driven decision making and quality assurance best practices.

  • Multi-lingual skills appreciated.

  • Multi-cultural experience preferred.

  • Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in marketing.

  • Willingness to learn new systems and procedures, and make recommendations for future optimizations based on data and learnings.

  • Ability to work in a team-based environment with internal and external partners.

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

  • Relevant technology skills required to prepare presentations and analyze data to create reports.

  • Practical knowledge of marketing and branding principles.

Salary Information:

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $58,000 - $88,000 . This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
