YOUR POSITION WITH TNC


The Senior Learning-Talent Manager provides high level services and strategic direction in one or more of the following human resource functions: talent management, staff development and training, and/or organizational development. The Manager reports to the Director of Learning & Development and will manage a team of Learning professionals located in multiple locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


The Senior Learning-Talent Manager provides a broad set of services in staff development and training. They collaborate with staff in the organization and within the HR team to design, develop and occasionally deliver learning and career development materials, tools, and programs to support TNC’s organizational goals and mission. The Manager will assist in the development and lead the implementation of client-specific and organization-wide learning, training and development opportunities that support a decentralized and geographically dispersed enterprise. They will partner with HR managers to work with regional staff as needed to address client requests and needs. They will directly support some key HR initiatives, including leader development, onboarding, diversity work, coaching, mentoring and career development. This position reports to the Director of Learning & Development

The Senior Learning-Talent Manager will provide guidance to HR Managers and/or professional HR staff working at a global and business unit level. They develop strategic business partnerships with senior leaders and liaises at the business unit level to establish and implement strategic HR direction to meet TNC’s organizational goals and mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE


  • Will manage a team of professional level regional learning staff and provide hands-on assistance in areas where it is needed.
  • Assist in the development of, and will be the implementation lead for, organizational development services that support a decentralized and dispersed organization.
  • Provide strategic counsel and subject matter expertise to specific client groups.
  • Resolve moderately complex issues based on expert knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and HR practice.
  • Conduct learning and training as requested.
  • Manage projects or participates on project teams as assigned.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, both within the United States and internationally

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years related experience as a leader in Organizational Development, Learning & Development.
  • Professional experience must encompass a generalist role to include some or all of the following: talent management, training and staff development, and organizational development.
  • Experience in strategic planning for a diverse, decentralized, geographically dispersed and multicultural international organization.
  • Experience working with international programs in the HR/Learning arena.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Experienced trainer and facilitator.
  • Experience with leading projects and coordinating the work of others.
  • Experience using MS Office software with experience in constructing and producing reports, data manipulation, and analysis.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Advanced degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline.
  • SPHR certification.
  • Fluency in foreign language to support a global program.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong client service orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with all levels of individuals.
  • Ability to negotiate and deal effectively, tactfully and honestly.
  • A proven strategic thinker with sound technical skills, analytical ability and good judgment.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of relevant conservation issues.
  • Proficiency personal computing skills and electronics communications.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, stressful and highly visible environment.
