WHO WE ARE

The Nature Conservancy’s mission is to protect the lands and waters upon which all life depends. As a science-based organization, we create innovative, on-the-ground solutions to our world’s toughest challenges so that we can create a world in which people and nature thrive. We’re rooted in our Mission and guided by our Values, which includes a Commitment to Diversity and Respect for People, Communities, and Cultures. Whether it’s career development, flexible schedules, or a rewarding mission, there are lots of reasons to love life #insideTNC. Want a better insight to TNC? Check out our TNC Talent playlist on YouTube on Glassdoor.

Our goal is to cultivate an inclusive work environment so that all our colleagues around the globe feel a sense of belonging, and that their unique contributions to our mission are valued. We’ll only achieve our Mission by hiring and engaging a diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we work. In addition to the requirements in our postings, we recognize that people come with talent and experiences outside of a job. Diversity of experience and skills combined with passion is a key to innovation and a culture of inclusion! Please apply – we’d love to hear from you. To quote myriad TNC staff members, “you’ll join for our mission, and you’ll stay for our people.”

WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Information Security Analyst (ISA) is part of the Information Security Blue Team. This team helps people safely operate the technology they use every day. This team also integrates multiple data sources to use in seeking malicious behavior in TNC's technology environment across on premise and cloud-based infrastructure. This position requires routine contact with both IT and non-technical staff. Responsibilities include:

  • Management of information security infrastructure including endpoint protection (antivirus, host-based firewalls) and security management (IPS/IDS, SIEM) systems.
  • Performing routine monitoring of information security infrastructure dashboards and alerts.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for Tier-2 staff regarding security events and incidents.
  • Analyzing potentially malicious email traffic and recommending filter changes to email admins.
  • Participating in incident response activities.
  • Providing advice and consultation for staff on information security-related policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Writing technical documentation for and delivering technical presentations to IT staff.
  • Periodically assisting with investigations, discovery requests, and related activities in conjunction with Ethics & Compliance, Internal Audit, and/or Legal.

Some travel and working flexible hours may be required. The work environment may involve infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU

We are looking for someone with experience providing technical support or in another information technology role who is interested in moving into an information security role. While we do require some information technology experience, we do not require information security experience. We list some knowledge or experience that would be helpful to bring to the role if a candidate may have them, but again, they are not required. If you believe you could be a good fit for the responsibilities of this role you are strongly encouraged to apply.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in any information technology discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in an end user/customer/client-facing role. The core of what we do is help people.

It would be ideal if you have some of these aspects, but they are not required:

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Exposure to or experience with a SIEM platform such as Elastic/ELK Stack, Splunk, or Sentinel.
  • Exposure to or experience with Cloud technology including AWS or Microsoft/Azure offerings for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Software as a Service (SaaS).
  • Experience supporting or administering Microsoft cloud and endpoint technologies, including security-related and configuration management services.
  • Exposure to or experience with system administration, network administration, application development, or data engineering.
  • Progress toward or completion of security certification such as Security+, GSEC, or Associate of (ISC)2.
