YOUR POSITION WITH TNC


The Concur Manager for the Finance Resource Center will be responsible for administration, management and configuration of the Conservancy’s expense and payment system (Concur), including applying system upgrades, working with business leads to identify and apply system improvements, managing the process for providing end-user support, and developing and implementing learning solutions that build staff capacity and expertise. They are also responsible for developing written and verbal communications on Finance business processes and system changes and improvements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


The Concur Manager will work towards meeting strategic priorities by maintaining system operational efficiency, identifying training needs, and generating communications in support of the Conservancy’s expense and payment system. They will be responsible for maintaining current user documentation, assessing training needs, and collaborating with FRC colleagues to create training materials. They may deliver trainings directly related to the systems they support or manage training opportunity delivery with subject matter experts. They will analyze information to achieve results, improve workflow, and solve problems. The Concur Manager will work in close cooperation with any or all of the following: Conservancy senior leadership and staff, vendors, and business relations. They will provide consulting services to Conservancy business units and provide reporting solutions that helps inform leadership’s fiscal decision making. The Concur Manager will reinforce consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and will provide support related to Finance expense and payment business processes. They will maintain expert knowledge of the systems and resources they support, applying knowledge to managing organization support and planning communications related to their area of responsibility. They will manage documentation, initiate complex processes, and serve as key team member for the enhancement of systems and tools used by staff. They will lead diverse activities, analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, project outcomes, identify process improvements and implement solutions in order to improve effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Act independently and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve complex problems; work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by directives of superiors.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information; decisions may have program-wide impact and may bind the organization financially or legally.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement system process updates and improvements.
  • Design and manage multiple projects, directing work of staff, managing budget, setting deadlines, and ensuring accountability.
  • Design and plan new initiatives that will ensure department and organization-wide goals and strategies are achieved.
  • Minimize legal risk to the Conservancy and ensure legal compliance with applicable state and local regulation.
  • Participate in audits of the business area, provide input, and implement recommendations on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure programmatic commitments, Conservancy policies and procedures, and financial standards are met and managed for compliance.
  • Manage accountability for strategic goals related to functional area.
  • Take leadership role on interdepartmental teams to coordinate the work of peers.
  • Supervision of staff may be required.
  • Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or related field and 6 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience leading and implementing multiple projects.
  • Experience with current technology in relevant field.
  • Experience working with teams across organization.
  • Experience explaining technical information in non-technical terms.
  • Experience working with accounting principles, financial interpretation and analysis.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated.
  • Experience with system administration and using configuration tools.
  • Ability to work in partnership with others in a collaborative or advisory role.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive and write creatively for various audiences and excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience in learning needs assessment, working with subject matter experts, and defining solutions.
