The Business Analyst will maintain a basic understanding of the strategies, goals, actions, and work processes of assigned business areas. They will provide analytical support to process-focused project teams. They will assist with mapping business processes and key process performance indicators, and the identification and understanding of business outcomes. They will also assist in the identification and design of solutions to sustain improved business and constituent outcomes, reduce costs, enable effective risk management, ensure quality improvement and to optimally align strategies, talent, processes, and tools. The Analyst will develop analysis and reporting capabilities and will monitor performance to identify improvements. They will be responsible for creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations for stakeholders. They will work with management to prioritize business and information needs. The Analyst will participate in the formulation and development of new or modified business processes. They will have substantial contact with stakeholders, collaborating to leverage solutions across business areas. They will keep up-to-date on market trends and best practices in order to improve services.

The Business Analyst will need to act independently and in supervisor’s stead as needed and exercise independent judgment to identify opportunities for improvement; decisions may have organization-wide impact and affect staff in multiple program areas. They will demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information, and ensure compliance with Conservancy policies and procedures, and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements. They will collaborate with team members to collect, interpret, and analyze processes and data, as well as perform data discovery, analysis and modelling. The Business Analyst will develop and implement databases, data collection, data analytics and reporting tools and also create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to understand business performance. They will establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions and lead project teams as assigned for the development and implementation of new initiatives or the improvement of existing programs. This position does not supervise any staff but may take a leadership role in interdepartmental teams to coordinate the work of peers. Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines. This position will need to travel and work long and flexible hours as needed. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience generating reports and analyzing and interpreting the data.
  • Experience managing and implementing multiple projects.
  • Experience with business process analysis and/or improvement.
  • Experience with current technology in relevant field.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.


  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated.
  • Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Reporting and data visualization skills.
  • Competency with analytic and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Visio, Microsoft Access and Excel, Smartsheet.
  • Ability to work in partnership with others in a collaborative or advisory role.
  • Advanced knowledge in current and evolving technology related to field of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and document new and/or improved processes and effectively communicate benefits.
  • Demonstrated ability to write for various audiences and excellent presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the specific field, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Strong organization skills, time management, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Successful experience in managing multiple projects and implementing strategic program goals.
