WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER


The Associate Director of Sustainer Acquisition Fundraising develops, creates, implements, and manages multichannel marketing strategies and plans that align with the overall goals for sustainer acquisition. Provides direction and leadership over initiatives including national in-person face-2-face (canvassing) fundraising, the testing and adoption of other offline sustainer acquisition channels, Broadcast/DRTV, partners with the acquisition digital team to influence on-line strategies, and partners with retention team to ensure ROII goals are met.

The Associate Director of Sustainer Acquisition Fundraising is responsible for the development, management and implementation of strategic acquisition, and achieves revenue goals across the sustaining donor lifecycle. These include in-person face-2-face fundraising, one-time donor conversion, DRTV other potential sustainer acquisition efforts, such as piloting new programs, platforms, and strategies. They manage all aspects of specific programs and projects, including supervision of staff. The Associate Director works with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure work product delivery is consistent with the marketing goals and strategies through the alignment of staff, vendors and team efforts to match priorities set by senior management. In addition to working with multiple vendor-partners specializing in face-2-face fundraising, they will work with state marketing and development leaders across the Conservancy to implement face-2-face fundraising campaigns in markets across the U.S.

The Associate Director reports to the Director of Acquisition and manages the budget and operational delivery of all aspects of the face-2-face acquisition program, whether applied internally or with external partners. They work with Membership operations, execution, and journey strategy teams to contribute subject matter expertise for the retention and long-term value of sustainer-acquired donors. They are responsible for relationships with internal partner(s) and key stakeholder group(s).

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 9 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing staff and teams.
  • Experience in project management, developing marketing strategies and measuring results.
  • Experience cultivating and managing vendor relationships.
  • Experience managing to long-term return on investment success metrics.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
  • Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
  • Experience leading large face-2-face fundraising program.
  • Management experience in motivating, leading, setting objectives, managing performance, and helping with conflict resolution on a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills to persuasively convey the mission of The Nature Conservancy to diverse groups including donors, board members and the public.
  • Experience fostering an environment of creativity and professional growth.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and measuring strategic marketing plans and programs.
  • Experience planning and managing budgets.
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Experience developing, directing, and managing multiple projects.
  • Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in face-2-face fundraising.
  • Cross disciplinary knowledge to support program objectives.
