Senior Energy Engineer – Energy Efficiency & Renewable
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Energy Engineer - Cherry Hill, NJ who will play a critical role in designing and implementing customized energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. You will collaborate with sales and installation teams, conduct site audits, and help translate technical concepts into clear, client-facing solutions.
Salary range - 100k - 120k PA +Benefits
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the sales team to understand client goals, budgets, and project requirements
Conduct site visits to assess lighting, HVAC, mechanical, and building envelope systems
Perform energy audits and collect data on energy usage, utility bills, and facility infrastructure
Develop and present energy-saving solutions tailored to client needs
Support installation teams with project design details and execution metrics
Translate complex technical designs into client-friendly language and presentations
Identify new Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) and improve existing ones
Guide projects through development, design, construction, and commissioning
Understand and apply local utility incentive programs
Build and maintain strong client relationships
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy efficiency, mechanical/HVAC engineering, or related fields
Experience performing ASHRAE Level 1, 2, and 3 (or investment-grade) energy audits
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, VFDs, chillers, boilers, lighting, etc.
Familiarity with M&V protocols (e.g., IPMVP) and building automation systems (BAS)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and technical report writing
Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex systems to clients
Industry certifications (e.g., CEM, CEA, CMVP) are highly valued
P.E. license is a plus, but not required
