Base Pay Range
$215,000.00/yr - $240,000.00/yr
Our client, a renewable IPP, operating on a standalone basis, is one of the largest, most technologically advanced utilityscale solar and energy storage project development companies in the United States. With a growing portfolio of more than 40 GW, our client's diverse team provides comprehensive services at each phase of renewable energy project development, from conception through construction.
Position Description
We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Director of Transactions. This individual will bring a depth of experience in leading key financing transactions together with a passion for the renewable energy sector.
As Director of Transactions, this individual will lead the origination, execution and management of sellside transactions. There will be a variety of transactions including equity joint ventures, developtoflip, development asset sales, tax equity, tax transfers and debt financing.
As leader of deal teams the Director will negotiate the financing, manage and support the internal deal team, and drive to financial close.
Key Responsibilities
- Sellside deal lead focus is on leading our client's sale of projects at NTP (or earlier) or COD, to financial investors, strategics, or utilities.
- 10 years in renewables, power, or finance, preferably coming from another sellside or buyside M&A role.
- Ideally someone who can lead all Build Transfers (sale at COD to utilities) which could involve execution cycles of 68 months.
- Experience with development and construction issues that can facilitate communication of development and construction concepts, negotiating closing CPs, and troubleshooting issues is key to get to deal closing.
- Fluent in discussing and interpreting financial models. Modeling not part of the job per se, but being able to pick up a spreadsheet is a value add.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in related field. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
- 1015 years of experience working at a leading sponsor, investor/lender, or advisor in power/infrastructure/real estate. Utilityscale renewable energy experience highly preferred.
- Lead capital formation for specific financings, negotiating deal terms, and managing associated work streams including modeling and due diligence.
- Collaborate closely with functional teams across the company, including transactions, finance, project development, engineering, procurement, grid integration, construction, operations, and legal.
- A great attitude for learning new skills and an inquisitive mindset for continuous learning and improvement.
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to multitask and problem solve in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work in a team environment.
Preferences
- Direct experience in a utility scale IPP setting.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in managing teams.
- Extensive experience in leading due diligence for complex asset portfolios.
