Commercial Director
Commercial Director
London or Manchester (hybrid)
TGRC has partnered with an innovative cleantech business developing technology infrastructure for local, decentralised energy markets, connecting energy generation directly with consumption.
They are now hiring for their new Commercial Director.
This is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for owning the organisation’s consumption channels, including partnerships, private markets and connected PPAs. The position is built on a platform that is already live, with strong momentum and clear growth opportunities ahead.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer, you will own a commercial P&L across three core growth channels:
- Strategic distribution partnerships
- Private energy market structures
- Connected PPAs and infrastructure-led energy solutions
You will be responsible for scaling proven deal structures into repeatable market channels while helping shape the next phase of the company’s commercial architecture.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 12 months, you are expected to:
- Secure multiple new Tier-1 strategic partnerships
- Close structured private-market energy deals
- Establish a repeatable operating cadence across the channel
- Shape and scale the commercial partnerships function
- Contribute to the rollout of connected PPA opportunities
Longer term, the role evolves into a key leadership position within a rapidly scaling commercial organisation.
Candidate Profile
- Strong background in commercial leadership experience within energy, infrastructure, utilities, climate-tech, or complex B2B environments
- Experience closing structured commercial agreements with enterprise or public-sector customers
- Strong understanding of PPAs, framework agreements, embedded energy models, or infrastructure-led commercial structures
- Experience building and leading high-performing commercial teams
- Ability to operate within fast-scaling, entrepreneurial businesses rather than highly traditional utility environments
