Electrical Engineer
Hybrid working- Charlotte office
Provide technical leadership for renewable projects ranging from large-scale commercial to utility-scale installations. Serve as the technical lead for Solar & BESS projects interconnecting at both distribution and transmission levels, including utility-scale projects up to 1,000 MWac / 2,000 MWhdc.
- Lead and oversee electrical designs and drawings, including steady-state and dynamic power system analyses.
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary engineering team that includes civil, structural, mechanical, survey, and electrical disciplines.
- Support projects encompassing solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Lead engineering efforts for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) projects, both behind-the-meter and front-of-the-meter, ranging from 100 kWac to 10 MWac.
- Coordinate closely with project stakeholders to ensure all design disciplines and technical studies are fully integrated and aligned.
- Review and ensure accuracy, quality, and constructability of all electrical and medium-voltage (MV) designs and studies.
What You’ll Need
- 10+ years of experience in electrical power systems engineering.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Experience performing steady-state and dynamic power system analyses, including tools such as: ETAP , SKM
- Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions when clarification is needed.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a project team.
- Flexibility to manage varying project demands while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Highly detail-oriented with a methodical approach to engineering work.
- Strong technical aptitude with a genuine interest in emerging technologies and staying current in the field.
- Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
