Environmental Compliance Specialist
The ECP Associate will support environmental compliance, permitting, and due diligence activities across the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work closely with an ECP Manager and cross-functional teams to advance projects through the development lifecycle. Responsibilities include:Support environmental due diligence, study planning, and permitting strategies for greenfield and early-stage projectsAssist in managing environmental consultants, including RFP support and review of technical reports and permit applicationsCollaborate with development, engineering, legal, and project execution teams to identify and mitigate environmental risksParticipate in project meetings and provide environmental input to support siting and project design decisionsTrack project milestones, permitting timelines, and key deliverables to ensure alignment with development schedulesSupport compliance efforts as projects transition into construction and operationsDesired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of environmental/permitting experience, ideally supporting energy or infrastructure development projectsExperience working on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or storage) is preferredFamiliarity with key environmental regulations such as CWA, CAA, EPCRA, NEPA, ESA, and related state/local permitting frameworksStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and work both independently and within cross-functional teamsDiscipline(s): Renewable Energy, ESG and SustainabilityJob type: Permanent
