Environmental Compliance & Permitting (ECP) Associate
The ECP Associate will support environmental compliance, permitting, and due diligence activities across the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with an ECP Manager and cross-functional teams to advance projects through the development lifecycle. Responsibilities include:
- Support environmental due diligence, study planning, and permitting strategies for greenfield and early-stage projects
- Assist in managing environmental consultants, including RFP support and review of technical reports and permit applications
- Collaborate with development, engineering, legal, and project execution teams to identify and mitigate environmental risks
- Participate in project meetings and provide environmental input to support siting and project design decisions
- Track project milestones, permitting timelines, and key deliverables to ensure alignment with development schedules
- Support compliance efforts as projects transition into construction and operations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of environmental/permitting experience, ideally supporting energy or infrastructure development projects
- Experience working on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or storage) is preferred
- Familiarity with key environmental regulations such as CWA, CAA, EPCRA, NEPA, ESA, and related state/local permitting frameworks
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and within cross-functional teams
