This role will support the Head of Sustainability in managing supplier compliance to ensure adoption and engagement with our ethical standards. Supporting across our supply chain to ensure compliance with audits and improvement programmes, accurate reporting of environmental data and timely adoption of existing and future legislative requirements.

1. Supplier Engagement

· Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with SEDEX and SMETA auditing

· Support VN team on Tier 1 key performance metrics:

o Tier 1 DS Supplier Audits 100% <2yrs old

o 100% Low/ Med Risk Tier 1 DS Suppliers with zero or only minor o/s issues

· Track responses for quarterly reporting and completeness of records

· Support sustainability reporting across Tier 1 and 2 supply chain as required, including data quality

control

· Work with supplier partners to make improvements to reduce fossil fuel reliance, water waste and

pollution


2. Ethical Standards

· Ensure alignment with our ethical standards across the supply chain

· Manage annual renewal and compliance of Modern Slavery Statement and other legislative

requirements as necessary

· Ensure cross collaboration with product compliance to ensure consistency and alignment


3. Data Compliance

· Management of compliance records required for reporting

· Liaison with Far East and QC teams, as well as suppliers to ensure data accuracy, including adhoc

validation checks

· Support the Head of Sustainability in preparing regulatory submissions

· Lead on packaging improvement projects in the Far East to increase recyclable content and reduce

environmental impact


4. General Support

· Assist with document organisation and sustainability project administration

· Support ad-hoc sustainability and ethical standards initiatives as directed


ESSENTIAL QUALITIES AND BEHAVIOURS

Knowledge of Sedex and Smeta frameworks

Understanding of UK Modern Slavery Act

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling

Good written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable with spreadsheets and basic data entry

Ability to follow processes and meet deadlines

Organised and methodical in approach

Proactive in following up with suppliers and resolving data gaps

Willingness to learn and develop sustainability knowledge

Team player, with a positive, solutions-focused attitude

 

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES

Familiarity with GHG protocol or carbon accounting basics

Knowledge of packaging or sustainability compliance regulations (eg: SECR, ESOS, UK EPR)

Previous experience in data management or administrative support

Interest in sustainability, climate change or environmental compliance
