Overview
The Center for Climate Integrity (CCI) seeks a legal intern to support the organization’s work to help communities hold oil and gas corporations accountable for the massive costs of climate change.
This full-time, remote internship will run from the end of May to August 2026 with flexible start and end dates. Although this is an unpaid internship, CCI will provide a monthly stipend of $3,000 (prorated as applicable). Interns should expect to work 35-40 hours per week on a regular schedule agreed upon with their supervisor for a period of at least 10 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal and factual research, writing and analysis.
- Prepare legal memorandums and briefs in support of climate and plastics liability litigation under attorney supervision.
- Monitor and track developments in U.S. law and policy that have implications for climate and plastics liability litigation.
- Cite-check and proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and proper citation format.
- Attend and observe meetings, conferences, and court proceedings, and participate in internal team meetings (virtual).
Required Qualifications
- Completion of at least one year of law school from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated commitment to corporate accountability as well as environmental and climate justice
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Ability to effectively manage your own time and work independently
- Problem solver with an entrepreneurial approach
- Commitment to working as part of a nimble, mission-driven team
Technology Requirements
CCI is an all-remote organization, and interns will need to arrange for some of their own infrastructure and tools, including a personal computer and workspace with reliance internet connection.

Stipend and Supervision
- $3,000 per month stipend, paid at the end of each month and prorated as applicable
- Supervision and mentoring from the Legal Team
- Letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the internship
