Project Support Intern
About the role:

You’ll get real insight into our business, as well as valuable experience in a supportive environment working alongside some of the most knowledgeable people in our sector.
A key focus of this internship will be to provide support to the South East London Energy Plan (SELEP) project. This project involves working closely with the London Boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich to develop a strategic decarbonisation plan for South East London. We would welcome applications from residents of these Boroughs, but it is not an essential requirement.
Carbon Trust internships are offered on a paid basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:
You will be expected to apply a high degree of independence and initiative in delivering high quality work which includes the following:
- Providing administrative project support
- Engaging with external stakeholders across the energy sector
- Conducting research and analysis on carbon reduction projects and scenarios
- Supporting and participating in projects to deliver quality work
- Contributing to knowledge management
- Communicating findings orally and in writing (e.g. writing reports or producing PowerPoint deliverables)
Key skills we are looking for:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment
- Ability to think and work independently, taking initiative and ‘ownership’ of tasks, having strong organisational and time management skills
- degree educated or equivalent
- Advanced use of MS Excel and/or other programming languages
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience conducting research
- Self-starter and task oriented
- Excellent critical thinking/problem-solving skills
- Local knowledge of South East London particularly the Boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and/or Greenwich is desirable.
- Knowledge of GIS systems, or a keenness to learn is desirable.
