SALES DEVELOPEMENT REPRESENTATIVE


Position Overview The Sales Development Representative drives sales through in-home/phone consultations, phone-based lead nurturing, and professional presentation of our company's insulation and air quality solutions. This role focuses on attic insulation, wall insulation, air sealing, duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, UV light installation, and air purification systems. It requires strong communication, trust-building, and problem-solving skills to act as an advisor and advocate, helping homeowners improve comfort, energy efficiency, and home health.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Customer Engagement & Sales Generation
    • Conduct in-home evaluations to identify insulation deficiencies, air leaks, and energy efficiency opportunities.
    • Engage leads via phone, email, or video calls to qualify needs, educate, and schedule consultations.
    • Present insulation and IAQ solutions using consultative sales techniques in-person or virtually.
    • Provide detailed proposals using company pricing and templates in Workiz.
    • Upsell complementary services (e.g., duct cleaning, UV lights) when beneficial.
    • Manage follow-ups, financing discussions, and scheduling handoffs for smooth project flow.
  2. Product Knowledge & Presentation
    • Maintain expert knowledge of insulation types (blown-in, batt, spray foam), R-value standards, and installation benefits.
    • Educate customers on insulation’s impact on indoor air quality and comfort.
    • Stay updated on materials, rebates, and energy-saving incentives.
    • Use approved sales scripts, visual aids, and demonstrations to boost conversion rates.
  3. Lead Management & Documentation
    • Track leads, appointments, and closed sales in Workiz.
    • Coordinate with call center for schedules and appointment readiness.
    • Document opportunities with photos, notes, and signed proposals.
    • Report lead quality, close rates, and feedback to Sales Director weekly.
  4. Performance Accountability & Team Collaboration
    • Meet or exceed sales targets.
    • Attend sales meetings, product refreshers, and training.
    • Collaborate with operations and field crews for accurate work scope and customer satisfaction.
    • Share best practices and insights to support team performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2–3 years of in-home, inside, or field sales experience in insulation, energy efficiency, or home services preferred.
  • Proven ability to build trust and close deals via consultative methods.
  • Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with Workiz CRM, Microsoft Office, and digital quoting tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to climb attics and perform inspections safely.

  • Monthly sales revenue and close rate.
  • Average ticket and insulation-to-IAQ attachment rate.
  • Proposal-to-installation conversion rate.
  • Lead follow-up compliance and documentation accuracy.
