We work remotely with a team located in 20+ countries. We are a diverse group committed to harnessing the strengths of the global textile industry to accelerate change toward climate and other key environmental goals. We work collaboratively on important environmental issues around the world by working and interacting with farming groups, processors, brands, retailers, and environmental experts in the textile and fashion industries around the world. Position Summary
At Textile Exchange, we are dedicated to driving beneficial change within the textile and fashion industry. Through collaborative efforts and strategic initiatives, we aim to propel the industry towards meaningful progress in sustainability and environmental stewardship. As part of our commitment, we are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the Industry Activation Specialist.
The Industry Activation Specialist will play a pivotal role in advancing our organizational mission to educate, raise awareness and guide the textile and fashion industry towards impactful change. This position, situated within the Engagement & Partnership department, will play a key role in managing Textile Exchange’s online community and supporting virtual educational programming as part of the Industry Activation team. The team will serve as a catalyst, empowering industry stakeholders and Textile Exchange members to make tangible climate and nature impacts through strategic convening and access to educational resources.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Virtual Education
- Manage the development, delivery and MEL (monitoring, evaluation and learning) of virtual education content and guidance to support the adoption of Textile Exchange tools, resources, and standards on a global scale in collaboration with internal Textile Exchange departments.
- Manage virtual Textile Exchange programming and events, such as webinars, online learning, the Textile Exchange Conference online experience, Roundtables and Communities of Practice, to drive engagement and facilitate knowledge dissemination.
- Manage the technical build of online courses for the Textile Exchange Learning Management System (LMS) in collaboration with Technology, and the platform provider, Docebo.
- Ensure alignment between in-person education and engagement initiatives, including the Textile Exchange membership structure.
- Collaborate effectively with key Textile Exchange teams and departments including Industry Engagement, Materials Engagement, Technology, and Communications to deliver team objectives and initiatives.
- The Industry Activation Specialist will also be responsible for other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and growth of Textile Exchange.
- The Hub
- Proactively manage the Hub, implementing engagement strategies and developing content to ensure it is a safe, inclusive and vibrant space that engenders peer-to-peer learning and knowledge sharing.
- Enforce community policies, manage any disruptions, violations or issues that occur in the community. Ensure contacts and permissions are updated.
- Manage support tickets with Higher Logic, troubleshoot glitches, and provide community access assistance. Flag and escalate potential product or service issues as they arise.
- Provide community admins training and support.
- Manage content on the Hub by keeping community calendars and site links updated, archiving and organizing community resources and working with digital teams to ensure file accuracy across platforms.
- Maintain working knowledge of CSS and JavaScript to make design adjustments to the community site.
- Support the roll out of new applications and tools for external communities.
- Create technical documentation to guide future development projects.
- Identify areas of business process improvement for existing manual processes and develop scripted automations.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the online community is an enabling environment aiming to educate and guide the textile and fashion industry towards meaningful change, in collaboration with Industry Activation, Technology, and the platform provider, Higher Logic.
- Support the dissemination of actionable guidance for the adoption of Textile Exchange tools, resources, and standards on a global scale via The Hub and its communities.
- Background in education design and content development, online learning, training, and
- Experience developing online learning and training materials.
- Commitment to driving adoption and fostering engagement within the industry towards
- sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Demonstrates exceptional oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with.
- Ability to work in a diverse, global, virtual environment.
- Ability to work in a team, and independently; self-directed and proactive.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability and willingness to travel to key events and/or conferences as needed.
- Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change in the fashion industry.
- Experience managing online communities is strongly preferred, including tracking engagement and success.
- Experience designing and developing SCORM files is desirable, ideally with Adobe Captivate.
- A strong understanding of the fashion and apparel sectors is desirable, including the challenges and opportunities associated with achieving climate and nature impact goals.
- Full-Time Position, 40 Hours a Week
- Required travel: Up to 10%
- Annual Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 USD
