What to Expect What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
Engineering Team is looking for a highly motivated and talented engineering technician to join our Thermal Test Team. As an engineering technician, you will have an active role in fabricating and building test setups, executing durability testing on the thermal system and root causing system level issues. In addition, you will have an active role in product development along with validating the reliability of our products according to Tesla standards. A successful candidate for this role must have a strong hands-on background in an engineering environment (ideally in testing), as well as the passion and drive to get things done in a dynamic environment.
- Design, fabricate & assembly of test fixtures
- Run tests: setup, detailed inspections, maintenance and retrofits
- Root cause and report issues: Document and report issues identified during test or inspections.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve mechanical & electrical issues discovered. Provide detailed written & verbal test status updates to key stake holders
- Conduct detailed inspections such as torque checks, pressure and temperature analysis etc. to identify and root cause failures
- General test equipment maintenance, Maintaing a clean and organized work environment
- 2 year technical/automotive degree preferred
- Experience with fabrication equipment (e.g. Band Saw, Drill, Press)
- Analytical problem-solving skills & root cause analysis
- Basic soldering, crimping, harness modifications
- Good written & verbal communication skills, Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail,
- High voltage certification or past work experience
- Programming experience in Python/C/C++ With Extensive knowledge of refrigerant/hvac systems
