What to Expect
Tesla is currently looking for a Journeyman level welder & pipefitter. This position will support the internal Self Perform Construction Team.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with planning, material acquisition, coordination, and communication to ensure work completion while meeting project deadlines and cost goals without impacting ongoing production
  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other instructions to accurately create equipment
  • Design and build basic and/or complex structures, supports, or frameworks as needed in daily tasks
  • Weld using GMAW, MIG processes, and perform oxy/acetylene torch and plasma arc cutting.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards, established safety procedures, and support the installation, start-up, and commissioning of mechanical piping and equipment systems
  • Enthusiastically cross-train and support peers with project work outside of core skill sets, while identifying and communicating quality, safety, and productivity improvement opportunities
  • Accurately log work hours, material consumption, and engage in training on new tools, systems, equipment, and procedures

What You'll Bring
  • 1-3 years of MIG welding experience and operating in a similar capacity within a manufacturing or related facility
  • Demonstrated proficiency in construction pipefitting, with experience in piping systems, fitting installation, and knowledge of applicable codes
  • Completion of a skilled trade’s certificate program or relevant military experience preferred; an Associate's Degree in Engineering or Technology is a plus
  • Experience with Stainless Steel, Copper, PVC/CPVC, and Carbon Steel piping systems, with the ability to read drawings, shop, isometric, PID, and schematic diagrams
  • Willingness to travel to other Tesla Facilities for support and to work outside of core trade when required to support changing business needs
  • Evidence of exceptional ability in a large-scale industrial or manufacturing construction environment
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repetitively, work at elevations up to 50 ft. and command proficiency in both written and verbal English
