Wastewater Operator
What to Expect
A Tesla Gigafactory facilities industrial Wastewater Operator has the responsibility to monitor and operate critical facility industrial wastewater treatment equipment. The Operator is also responsible for ensuring all facilities equipment is operating in the most efficient manner possible to ensure that Tesla facilities meet safety, efficiency, quality, and environmental targets that exceed industry standards.
As a Tesla Gigafactory Operator, you will have the opportunityto operate and develop a manufacturing waste-water treatment facility that is first of its kind at Gigafactory Nevada. You will have the opportunity to assist in driving towards world-class energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact through smart, intuitive operational philosophies and unprecedented operational flexibility. Tesla Operators will work closely with system experts to continuously develop and improve state-of-the-art systems that will help accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
What You’ll Do
- Operate and monitor pumps, valves, compressors, storagetanks, filtration skids, and chemical injection systems
- Collect wastewater samples, conduct routine analysis at various points of the treatment plant and make system adjustments to meet quality targets
- Utilize control systems to monitor equipment, read and interpret charts, flow meters, and other system parameters to determine operating efficiency of equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot operational parameters that fall outside of normal operating targets and set points
- De-energize and isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance and construction work
- Use hand tools to make minor repairs on wastewater equipment
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of resources and supplies used in the treatment of manufacturing wastewater
What You’ll Bring
- Required to work with and around hazardous areas and hazardous chemicals and materials
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 30lbs. for up to 20 feet in distance, climb and maintain balance on ladders,scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to wear a powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) while performing tasks for 4 consecutive hours, up to 12 hours per day
- 2 years of college/technical school or equivalent work experience, applicable documented Training and/or Certifications a plus
- Open to schedule flexibility that will allow for a varietyof shifts (12 hours), including days, nights, or weekends as needed
- Experience utilizing SCADA to monitor and troubleshoot advanced operating systems
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software suite
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.80 - $44.00 per hour
