What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Engineering Technician to contribute to implementing and sustaining Industrial Engineering principles to the total manufacturing process of our cutting-edge Powertrain and Energy Products at Gigafactory Nevada. Through a detailed understanding of the factory objectives and extensive collaboration with internal and external teams, you will help optimize our manufacturing process. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Tesla’s world class manufacturing facility in Sparks. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work on critical subsystems of an incredibly exciting product.
What You’ll Do
  • Production equipment, conveyance, material flow, and human work measurement for operations and engineering stakeholders (occasionally at off-site locations)
  • Layout and space readiness initiatives for existing line optimization and new line installations, including 2D CAD design
  • High quality decision support through, primarily but not limited to data analysis on Excel
  • Support of structured problem solving and cross functional continuous improvement initiatives
What You’ll Bring
  • Track record of excellence in current and prior roles
  • Experience as part of a project team prioritizing multiple continuous improvement projects
  • Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • 1+ year(s) experience in factory environment; technician experience preferred
  • Distinguishing experiences/skills: 2D/3D CAD, lean manufacturing, work measurement, analytics (SQL, Excel modelling, etc.), any completed or in-progress STEM degrees preferred
  • Expertise in Auto CAD 2D design (including but not limited to Hatching, X-Ref, data extraction) preferred
  • Competency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
