New Product Introduction Supervisor, Battery Cell Manufacturing
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician Supervisor leads a large team of skilled NPI Engineering Technicians supporting product launches at Tesla’s Manufacturing facilities including vehicles, batteries, drive units, charging and storage systems - the things that make Tesla unique. This posting is geared toward cell manufacturing facility in Reno. The NPI Technician Supervisors work with a diverse cross-functional team supporting every phase of Tesla’s product development lifecycle, including hand-building low volume engineering trials, executing extended product validation builds, validating equipment and process readiness for production launch, and training production teams as products launch.
What You'll Do
- Build a strong, motivated team capable of consistently delivering high quality results against aggressive product development targets
- Allocate NPI technicians across multiple sites and technical requirements. Some assignments may involve domestic or international travel
- Maintain and Track teams KPI’s
- Maintain 5S and layout of NPI engineering build space
- Forecast Headcount needs based on current and future programs
- Work cross-functionally with program teams to ensure aggressive project milestones are achieved
- Understand and determine priority with various competing program priorities
What You'll Bring
- An Associates degree, or relevant experience
- 5+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years managing teams of people in a production environment
- Experience in process development and equipment bring-up
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles
- Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
