What to Expect
Tesla has an outstanding opportunity available for Fire Response Specialist to join the team at our Sparks, NV Gigafactory location. Fire Response Specialist are expected to monitor the fire alarm panel, safely minimize losses associated with fire, perform search and rescue operations, support hazardous material response operations, and support medical emergencies. During an individual’s assigned shift, the Fire Response Specialist is also responsible to carry out assignments pertaining to emergency and life safety system equipment maintenance and safety checks.
Shift Available: Nights 7:00PM - 7:00AM (10% pay differential)
Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
What You’ll Do
  • Attend training sessions as required by Tesla, read and understand assigned materials related to emergency medical care, fire fighting and fire prevention
  • Respond to emergency calls (HAZMAT, fire, medical)
  • Performs general inspection, testing, and maintenance onlife safety and emergency response equipment
  • Enforce life safety standards. Accurately maintain and complete all required documentation
  • Studies the location of building layout, fire hydrants, sprinkler systems, alarm systems and Knox boxes
  • Identify, track and help mitigate life safety concerns. Follow and relay instructions and information quickly and accurately
  • Troubleshoot fire alarm system and fire suppression system issues. Interface with the local Fire Department during emergencies
What You’ll Bring
  • Industrial Firefighting certification preferred. CurrentNevada EMT-Basic minimum and EMT-Advanced, or Paramedic certificationpreferred. Valid Class C Drivers License preferred
  • Incident Command System knowledge. ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800
  • Hazardous Materials Operations level with decon preferred
  • 2 years’ experience as a Firefighter with Firefighter Iand/or II certifications preferred
  • Ability to communicate concisely, clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to act in accordance with Tesla requirements as well as State and Federal laws, regulations, operational procedures, policies and statutes
  • Must be competent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 75lbs or more with assistance
  • Ability to walk and stand for 12 hour shifts
  • Ability to handle occasional overtime
  • Must be comfortable in confined spaces and wearing a SCBA
  • Must be able to initially and annually pass a physical testsimilar to the CPAT
  • Must complete medical baseline assessment and have the ability to complete physically strenuous tasks associated with fire suppression, for extended periods of time
