What to Expect

As a Tesla Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the operational availability of manufacturing equipment by installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. You'll collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability and minimize downtime. You'll be a key problem solver, handling machine breakdowns and maintaining production flow. You’ll assist with Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), which will involve international travel for the first few months.


What You'll Do
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs) internationally to validate and launch new production tooling

  • Use manufacturing systems (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking) to collaborate with cross-functional teams and improve reliability

  • Perform major repairs and rebuilds, including weekend and holiday shifts when necessary

  • Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and communicate corrective actions

  • Respond to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests to minimize downtime



What You'll Bring
  • Experience with Siemens or other PLC platforms; Fanuc and Kuka robot experience is a plus

  • OSHA 10 certification is a plus and fluency in English is required

  • Demonstrated experience with 3-phase 480/208 VAC, single-phase 208/120 VAC, and 24 VDC systems

  • Skilled in troubleshooting automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systems

  • Proficiency with hand tools, machining, welding, and reading mechanical/electrical schematics

  • Specialization in electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining, or automation/PLC/robotics

Physical Demands

  • The role requires the ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods, up to 12 hours a day, in a variety of environments
  • Standing, walking, and moving on uneven terrain

  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, including safety glasses, shoes, and bump caps, and adhering to safety rules and guidelines

  • Working in awkward positions, such as kneeling, crouching, or crawling

  • Climbing ladders, scaffolding, or other high structures, and maintaining balance

  • Lifting, pushing, and carrying up to 35 lbs, with frequent bending, reaching, and stooping
