What to Expect What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a motivated Supply Chain Manager to support our development teams and contract manufacturing partners in the sourcing of Direct Supply Chain components and parts. These could include specific parts related to Semi, Tesla Energy, Batteries and/or any other components intrinsic to the successful running of the organization. This role will report to our Supply Chain Group Manager and in parallel be an active sourcing resource supporting our various Engineering groups within Tesla. This candidate will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting the development, implementation, and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. The Supply Chain Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
- Category part ownership end to end, managing pricing and consistent supply along with justification of suppliers
- Develops sourcing and negotiation strategies that deliver business objectives and maintains positive relationships with suppliers
- Responsible for analyzing supply chain data that will improve efficiency and generate savings by executing strategic sourcing initiatives
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and provide price analysis using competitive pricing bids and should-cost models
- Ensures NDAs, Global Terms & Conditions, and pricing agreements are set appropriately before business is initiated, while creating competitive environments with suppliers to support a global strategy
- Evaluate supplier business proposals and present recommendations that will result in cost savings, cost avoidance or containment
- Monitor, analyze, and publish updates to key performance initiatives (KPIs) for chosen suppliers
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, General Business, Engineering, or Project Management; professional work experience in Supply Chain & Procurement in a related field is preferred
- Masters of Science in Supply Chain or a MBA in a relevant field is advantageous however not required
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
- Have an analytical mind and strong business acumen, with problem-solving skills and attention to detail being essential
- Prior experience with project management, supply chain processes or supply chain management is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$72,000 - $264,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
