What to Expect
Our Residential Energy team is looking for a Technical & Quality Manager to drive quality around our product launches. This role will work closely with our partner network and will ensure that our renewable storage products are installed and commissioned to the highest standards. This role will be a hybrid of renewable energy quality engineering, technical training, and ownership of residential product installation.
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of solar and energy storage, along with solid electrical engineering skills and in-depth knowledge of code requirements and installation practices for residential and commercial applications.

What You’ll Do
  • Support field trials and localize technical content for deployment of new Tesla products.
  • Develop strategy, processes, and metrics to enable ongoing measurement and evaluation of quality in the network of installation partners.
  • Track quality performance metrics, prioritize top issues and drive continuous improvement activities with cross-functional team.
  • Identify training needs, develop training material, organize, and deliver training sessions for the network of installation partners.
  • Perform quality audits of field installations to ensure conformity to relevant installation codes, practices and guidelines ensuring continuous improvement of products, processes, and services.
  • Lead Containment/sort activity on non-conforming material by determining appropriate suspect range to quarantine and provide disposition of material.
  • Provide best-in-class product and design support to the installer and installer-facing teams.
What You’ll Bring
  • A degree or relevant experience in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical), other technical discipline, or comparable installation/electrical experience.
  • 5+ Years Experience in a quality/training or similar role in a operations environment.
  • Relevant work experience in solar PV or energy storage industry.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical, solar PV and energy storage fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules, and best practices applied in the industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement to establish effective working relationships throughout the Tesla organization.
  • Demonstrated and extensive analytical skills (familiar with basic SQL is a plus).
