Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and deeply process oriented Logistics Analyst to join our growing supply chain team in Texas. In the Logistics Analyst role, you will manage critical domestic and international inbound supplier shipments in closed loops that support vehicle production in Texas and international shipping operations to other plants and service distribution centers. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, ability to collaborate cross-functionally, industry experience and willingness to go the extra mile to solve the problem and protect production. This role requires perfect coordination with suppliers, carriers and Tesla warehouses/yards to maintain a smooth flow of inbound material and outbound returns to ensure the production line runs around the clock. The individual needs to be comfortable working independently and making sound decisions in short notice.
What You'll Do
- Engineering and manufacturing supply chain strategy to support complex and high volume supply chain
- Lead cross-functional team including production, planning and warehouse to determine short-term and long-term strategy
- Implements systems, process, configurations, and change/optimization projects in accordance with plans
- Develop KPI, lead review meetings and develop projects in IT, operation and strategy to improve third-party logistics providers’ performance. Pull data from internal database. Analyze, compile, and publish logistics dashboards and metrics for Tesla’s logistics leadership
- Issue statistical or detailed reporting for stakeholders as requested including operation efficiency improvement, cost reduction and capacity planning
- Oversee the initial setup of high volume of import shipments. Monitor execution of inbound shipments to support smooth production
- Oversee booking and coordinating the most cost-effective and efficient means to import/export, engineer and manufacture goods within expected requirements. Cross-docking management to accelerate goods delivery and increase supply chain efficiency
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or the equivalent of experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- 3+ years of professional experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and/or evidence of exceptional ability
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to code in SQL and Tableau and deep dive in data
- Demonstrated communication, leadership, and problem solving skills. Ability to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasively at all levels
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to achieve success in situations with high degrees of variation and complexity
- Self-driven initiative to gain and implement a broad knowledge of logistics best practices
- Proficiency in Spanish
