What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a talented Sr. Paralegal to join our Employment Litigation Team. The ideal candidate will have technical acumen and experience with various types of employment litigation, including wage and hour claims, discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination claims, HR policies and processes, and internal investigations. The position will report directly to an Associate General Counsel in Employment Litigation.
What You’ll Do
  • With the Associate General Counsel, work with outside counsel on all stages of employment litigation and administration
  • Assist with the factual development and analysis of cases, including talking with the relevant internal business people, gathering and reviewing documents and relevant data
  • Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, and reviewing written responses to discovery
  • Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and response letters
  • Maintain litigation calendar on assigned cases and monitor case docket
What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with labor and employment litigation matters (preferred), or other civil litigation (considered)
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • In-house experience (preferred) and/or top-tier law firm experience
  • Understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial and appellate procedure a plus
  • Strong organizational and analytical fact-finding, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with CA is preferred

Expected Compensation

$84,000 - $174,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
