The Tooling & Industrial Engineering team is responsible for the development and proliferation of custom service and commissioning tooling hardware and processes to assist in the rapid development and maintenance of Tesla Energy’s global storage and charging solutions. This skilled and motivated individual will keep pushing this evolving energy industry forward by owning deep dives into existing service actions and creating actionable findings. The secondary responsibilities will include creating new service procedures and completing time trial to strengthen the quality and breadth of available data.

The ideal candidate has a good mix of mechanical or electrical & process engineering skills with a passion for working in a fast-growing renewable energy company.
What You’ll Do
  • Own the whole efficiency life cycle: Conduct deep dives via site visits, interviews, and data analysis of existing service actions and generating actionable insights and drive stakeholders to completion
  • Collaborate and communicate with project stakeholders across program management, field support, customers, EHS, technical publications, service engineering, product design to drive efficiency gains
  • Support service process development efforts for current & next-generation Tesla Energy products
  • Conduct time trials both in a lab setting and in the field
  • Ensure effective change adoption by proliferation, beta testing, & collecting feedback on the new/production tool performance in the field
  • Ability to travel to service sites 25-40% of the time
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of field service/engineering support, or product/tool design experience
  • Recognizes patterns in data to prioritize high impact items
  • Understanding of low and medium voltage electrical tools
  • Knowledge of CAD: Solidworks or Catia preferred
  • Ability to read drawings and/or electrical schematics
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, TQM or PDCA preferred
  • Understanding of data analytics relating to ROI, failure analysis, and efficiency preferred
  • Knowledge of in front or behind of meter Commercial or Utility scale transmission or power generation service preferred
  • Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and procedure development preferred

Expected Compensation

$80,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
