What to Expect

Tesla’s dry electrode program is changing the footprint of battery production. Dry electrode mixing is a key part of this!

We are looking for an exceptional process and equipment safety engineer to become part of our global team to work alongside our world class engineers in equipment and process design.

As we design, upgrade, and expand our plants globally, we want to continue to make safety an intrinsic property of design, not and addition. To do this, we are bringing in-house a skill set often sought from advisors or consultants. We are looking for exceptionally competent safety engineers, who are also deeply passionate about our process and equipment design, to become experts in our process and make key decisions alongside our manufacturing engineers.
What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate across our global engineering team to integrate safety seamlessly into equipment and process design.
  • Use you engineering knowledge and experience to make our designs better (safety relate or otherwise)
  • Take ownership of specific projects to improve safety or performance
  • Facilitate Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies and Safety Relief Reviews, incl. carry out risk assessment according the ASG and GefStoffV.
  • Manage CE marking and ATEX compliance of new equipment and processes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to safety, including risk assessments and compliance reports which can be used by the wider team
  • Provide guidance to enhance safety culture across the team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, safety regulations, and best practices.

What You’ll Bring
  • University Degree – Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or Applied Sciences graduate with a Major in hazard prevention, safety engineering or a comparable degree
  • Experience in process and equipment safety
  • Knowledge of UL and Hazardous Locations Classification is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and fast paced, collaborative environment and creatively problem-solve.
  • Solid grasp of fundamental engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in English
