The internship assignment

The Paint Shop team at Giga Berlin is looking for an innovate and highly driven Project Engineering Intern. If you are analytically strong, solving problems, and get bored with mundane tasks, then this role is for you. You will be working in the Operations&Process Department in Paint on a variety of projects such as: KPI reporting and action tracking, cycle time studies, process optimization projects and more.



What You'll Do
  • Setting up, management and coordination of projects / project teams
  • Initiate, support and lead process improvement projects
  • Be the interface to several stakeholders in different organizational units: e.g., IT (software and data engineering), control and automation engineering, manufacturing engineering, maintenance
  • Independent decision making on planning details, control of the implementation and ensuring the transfer of information within the team
  • Identification of necessary technical and digital related gaps/projects.

What You'll Bring
  • Pursuing a degree in engineering, computer science, informatics or related discipline
  • Strong analytical skills, entrepreneurial mindset, good business management and communication skills, willingness to learn, motivation, and reliability
  • Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for overall team success
  • Interest and experience in the subjects of digitalization, IoT, industry 4.0, data analytics/engineering.
  • Knowledge of programming language (e.g. SQL and Python), data systems (e.g. Apache Airflow and Apache Kafka), software development practices (e.g. frontend / backend infrastructure), PLCs and SCADA systems are a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in automotive or other manufacturing environments, continuous improvement projects, project management and quality management (e.g. Six Sigma) is a plus.
