Energy Data Internship (m/w/d) - Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg

What to Expect

The Energy Team continuously monitors and manages the utility systems, ensuring they meet the process specifications for vehicle production. The team is also responsible for forecasting the factory’s Energy requirements, continuously designing and implementing strategies and improvements to ensure optimum energy performance of the factory, working on energy efficiency improvements.

As an intern, you will work with many interfaces within the energy team and have contact with various stakeholders within the factory. Your main task would be to establish a working dashboard which forecasts factory’s Energy usage. This dashboard will then be a major tool used by the team in making key decisions.

What You'll Do
  • Understanding Manufacturing processes in the factory and its effect on Energy usage
  • Coordinating with Manufacturing Shops to gather information that affects Energy usage
  • Coordinating with the Technical Service to gather information that affects Energy usage
  • Build a working Machine learning model based dashboard for forecasting Electricity and Gas usage for short term and long term
  • Establish data transfer protocol to automize data infeed into the dashboard. For Eg – automatic input for outside weather condition, automizing
  • Communicating with other teams to understand the internal softwares used by Tesla
  • Identifying and establishing a workflow to keep the dashboard always updated/maintained

What You'll Bring
  • Your working style is proactive, pragmatic and fast-paced
  • Master’s (preferred) or a bachelor’s degree in Energy Data Engineering or similar
  • Experience in managing and analyzing large Energy datasets and utility demand forecasting
  • Advanced programming skills in Python or R.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering and thermodynamics is a plus.
  • Experience with data integration and validation techniques (SCADA).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a large, complex environment where you must adapt to meet company needs
