What to Expect

The Sr. Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer will be responsible for complex technical work across a broad range of EHS disciplines with an emphasis on reducing risk, empowering stakeholders, and doing the basics right. The Sr. EHS Engineer will report to the EHS Manager and play a leading role in implementing applicable EHS Programs, conducting risk assessments, performing inspections, investigating incidents, reporting event learnings, provide training, and facilitating risk reduction projects. The Sr. EHS Engineer will perform work individually and in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement for the Cell Manufacturing program in Fremont, CA.


What You'll Do
  • Lead implementation and sustainment of EHS programs, systems, and procedures, including EHS process and equipment safety reviews for Management of Change (MOC)
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, DOT, EPA, and other applicable regulatory agencies
  • Collaborate with Operational, Design, and Development teams to complete Job Hazard Analyses, Pre-Task Plans, PPE Assessments, Equipment Safety buyoffs, Ergonomic Assessments, and recommend, implement, and confirm appropriate safeguards to mitigate risk hazards have been installed
  • Monitor employee exposure for physical, health and chemical hazards
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and performance standards and expectations
  • Support event learning process to determine primary root cause(s) and identify any preventative and corrective actions needed to prevent recurrence
  • Manage the tracking and reporting of EHS metrics and measure performance against Key Performance Indicators to drive strategic and tactical plans

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience working as an EHS Engineer or EHS Specialist
  • Certifications – CSP / ASP, CIH, CPE, or PMP certifications highly desired
  • Advanced competency in controlling critical hazards including Machinery Safety, Control of Hazardous Energy, Electrical Safety, and Industrial Hygiene concerns
  • Working ability to read and understand Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Mechanical, Electrical, and Architectural permit sets, CAD drawings
  • Must be available to support Emergency Response and night and weekend work as needed
  • Must be comfortable wearing respiratory protection on a frequent basis

Expected Compensation

$92,000 - $174,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
