Process Engineer, Spares

The role is part of Spares department in Fremont Factory, which deals with production machinery spares for all shops in the Fremont factory. The Process Engineer leads communication with cross functional teams to develop an effective strategy for spare part set ups, identify critical gaps in processes, strive for efficient and robust processes and lead a standardization process through all shifts.
You will leverage your understanding of engineering, equipment, project management, analytics and warehousing. You’ll work cross functionally with a network of teams including manufacturing engineering, maintenance equipment engineers, material planners, space planning, program managers, and more.
You will be responsible for optimizing product flow through process optimization that may include tool /fixture selection, warehouse layouts, ergonomic study, material presentation, 5s, Kaizen, Gemba, and other relevant factors. You will interface with multifunctional teams to solve problems, improve processes, and implement continual improvement.
What You'll Do
- Lead and drive implementation of periodic review program of dormant spare parts
- Work with cross functional team to evaluate new spare part requests and part criticality
- Define impact of equipment decommissioning and upgrades to spare part inventory
- Maintain process documentation for spare part material planning and warehouse operations. Lead activities to get a standard process through all warehouse shifts
- Drive continuous improvement and support activities for engineering and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, material handling improvements, warehouse line configuration, and safety procedures
- Maintain spare part categorization, and work with customers on master data nomenclature
- Collaborate with Warehouse Ops teams to identify local improvement opportunities, lead concept development, prototype testing, engineering design implementation
- Identify Space planning requirements and support warehouse design process for managing spare part inventory
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing/Reliability Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience
- 5+ years’ work experience in manufacturing as a whole, at least two years in maintenance
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly, capacity for managing simultaneous activities and challenges
- Understanding of automation systems, mechanical engineering, robotics, PLCs, data collection systems
- Understanding inventory management, processes, and warehouse management systems.
- Working knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and quality improvement. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and its application, preferred
- Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers within a manufacturing and engineering organization
- Advanced skills in Excel, working knowledge in rest of Office Suite applications: Word and PowerPoint

$76,000 - $150,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
