Consider before submitting an application:

This position is expected to start around January 2025 and continue through the entire Spring term (i.e. through May 2025) or into Summer 2025 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

What You’ll Do

Assembly Technical Program Manager
  • In this role you will work with engineers and managers to develop timelines, track risks, track progress, and provide outputs for cross-functional teams. You will also be responsible to setting the standards for how we work, the tools we use internally, and setting the growth plan for our manufacturing and process development team.

Technical Product Manager

  • We’re looking for a versatile and technically component program and product management intern that will help us define software features, get them integrated on the manufacturing line and solve a host of problems that fall outside the scope of our software developers. You will own driving the build out of those solutions in software, and then deploy them into the line. We strongly prefer someone who is excited about manufacturing and especially how technology can improve physical processes. The ideal candidate has familiarity with software development terms and processes. Knowledge of scrum, Jira and confluence is helpful.

Technical Program Management

  • The Technical Program Management Intern on the Cell Manufacturing Team will be a cross-functional point of contact leading manufacturing ramp and tool activity coordination, supporting new product introduction changes/trials in the production/manufacturing lines, leading the program roadmap & project list management with tight coordination with engineering team members, and jumping in to support gaps within the program. The ideal candidate has production exposure and understanding of how complex production lines operate including industrial workings between cross-functional facilities/departments, line balance, OEE, KPI, etc. You may also have experience with manufacturing exposure, understanding of the balance of equipment, process, metrology, controls, production interactions/coordination.

Cell Materials Manufacturing Technical Program Management

  • Tesla’s Cell Materials Manufacturing team is looking for a highly motivated individual to join as a Technical Program Management Intern. The Cell Materials Manufacturing team develops and deploys at scale new materials and processes for critical battery metals, precursor (pCAM) and cathode (CAM). The ideal candidate has experience analyzing product metrics, business cases, and schedules for large scale implementation. You may also have the ability to identify issues and develop corrective measures to resolve.

Battery Minerals & Metals, Project Engineer

  • The Battery Minerals and Metals team is looking for a highly motivated individual to be a Project Engineer Intern. This is a cross functional role that requires coordination between many different groups within and outside of Tesla. As a Project Engineer Intern, you will interface with organizations across Tesla, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Construction, and Logistics. The ideal candidate has the ability to work and communicate cross-functionally, including interfacing with suppliers and third party firms. They also have the ability to identify issues and develop corrective measures to resolve.

Project Management Administration

  • Seeking a highly motivated undergraduate to contribute as Project Management Administration in Manufacturing Department. There are many manufacturing projects which are running in Ontario. coordinating these projects from beginning to end is highly important. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate has Project Management/Administration Skills, Professional communication skills, Scheduling and budgeting skills, and Inventory management skills.

Automation Engineering Technical Project Management

  • The Technical Project Management Intern is to help engineering leaders make the best technical decisions to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. In this internship, you will be responsible for executing organizational projects from concept and launch, through the entire project lifecycle to organization-wide mass adoption and iterative improvement. A Project Management intern will own driving the scope, schedule, and implementation of projects, as well as additional functions such as vendor relations, stakeholder management and report outs. The ideal candidate has experience with Agile methodology, schedule management, and Jira. They have experience in a factory, construction or manufacturing commissioning environment and experience in PLC programming.

Advanced Automation Technical Project Management

  • Tesla is seeking a Technical Project Management Intern (TPM-Intern) to join the Advanced Automation Engineering (AAE) team working on the company's cell manufacturing facility at the GigaFactory in Texas. As an Automation TPM, you are responsible for managing technical projects from project concept and launch through the entire project lifecycle, from idea through Tesla scale mass production. Your impact includes driving the design and implementation of automated equipment such as continuous process automation, powder mixing equipment, conveyance systems, and industrial material processing. The ideal candidate has experience with Agile methodology, schedule management, and Jira, Industrial electrical panel design o DCS programming (DeltaV, Experion, Foxboro or similar), HMI/SCADA programming (Allen-Bradley, Ignition, DeltaV Live or similar), and/or PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff or similar).

Technical Project Management

  • A Technical Project Management Intern on the Tesla 4680 staff team joins a global engineering leadership team responsible for the Tesla in-house 4680 battery cell manufacturing program. The Intern is to help engineering leaders make the best technical decisions to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. In this internship, you are responsible for executing organizational projects from concept and launch, through the entire project lifecycle to organization-wide mass adoption and iterative improvement. The ideal candidate has experience in a factory, construction or manufacturing commissioning environment and/or experience with Agile methodology, schedule management, and Jira.

Cell Manufacturing Technical Project Management

  • Tesla is seeking a Technical Project Management Intern on the Cell Electrode team to be part of a world-class team of engineers that are responsible for the equipment design, install, process development, and manufacturing of cell electrode at the Tesla factory in Austin, Texas. As a Technical Project Management Intern, you will drive projects to expand throughput through continuous improvement projects and new capacity installations. This will include driving the installation and commissioning of automated equipment such as calendaring, lamination, slitting, conveyance, coordinating between the different functional groups such as design, process, controls, metrology, and interfacing with other key stakeholders such as operations, facilities, tool install teams. The ideal candidate has familiarity with mechanical/electrical/mechatronic systems, experience working in a factory environment, and/or experience with mechanical design process.

Formation Equipment Technical Program Manager

  • A Technical Program Management (TPM) Intern, on the Tesla 4680 Cell Manufacturing team joins a global manufacturing equipment engineering team responsible for the Tesla in-house 4680 Cell Formation Process. Manufacturing Engineering Projects are highly interdisciplinary and require collaboration and coordination across engineering teams, global locations, and with production teams and new technologies. As a TPM Intern you are responsible for managing technical projects from project concept and launch through the entire project lifecycle, from idea through Tesla scale mass production.
What You’ll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in an Engineering program such as Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or a related field
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve technical problems

Expected Compensation

$20.00 - $50.00 + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
