Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start in-person around January 2025 and requires at least a 12 week committment. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week in-person. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
- The Business Analytics team’s mission is to enable a data driven business and generate value from our data to grow sales, increase customer retention and improve operational efficiency.
- The team is responsible for generating model and insights by contributinto all the stages of data science projects: from translating a complex business problem into a data science problem to performing data engineering, data analysis & dashboarding, modeling, and ultimately driving business value for Tesla.
- Develop and maintain complex data pipelines, supporting our team’s mission in democratizing data and enabling a data driven organization, partnering with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Machine Learning (ML) Engineers, and Product Managers
- Experience conceiving and delivering products powered by machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP) and/or generative AI (large language models / LLMs), or other types of data intensive systems
- Build models, dashboards and presentations to guide our customer lifecycle strategy and apply various ML, advanced analytics and visualization techniques to various datasets across the company
- Effectively communicate actionable insights to all levels of the organization with varying degree of data science understanding and backgrounds
- Collaborate closely with leaders and business stakeholders
- Internship with at least 2+ years of experience in a quantitative field (e.g Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Economics or Engineering), or equivalent
- Expertise in SQL and Python, especially in standard data science libraries and frameworks such as pandas, matplotlib, numpy, scikit-learn as well as being proficient in one or more visualization tools such as Tableau/Streamlit
- Experience building and deploying AI/LLM-based systems, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines for complex reasoning tasks, Question/Answer, and routing & function calling
- Expertise in extracting data insights and building ML/AI models and, especially in business analytics (or related) domain
- Results oriented with strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills, business acumen. Excellent problem-framing, problem solving and project management skills as well as ability to change direction quickly.
- Drive and curiosity to self-start and work independently in an unstructured environment as well as navigate (and bring structure to) ambiguity, bringing a problem from 0 to 1
Compensation and Benefits
As a full-time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for:
$32.45 - $45.43 + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
