This position is expected to start in-person around January 2025 and requires at least a 12 week committment. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Please consider before submitting an application.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week in-person. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and develop service equipment, tools, and systems for the Tesla robotaxi, including jigs, gauges, and testing equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify service tooling needs and develop solutions that meet the needs of our technicians and customers
  • Work hands on to build and test your designs, collaborating closely with a team of expert service and engineering technicians
  • Apply your expertise in automation and mechanical design to inform design decisions and ensure tooling meets the needs of our products
  • Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications
  • Work hands-on to build and test your designs, collaborating closely with a team of expert service and engineering technicians
  • Designing and develop tooling and equipment for our other vehicle platforms for service centers around the globe
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • Additional experience in electronics and/or software development a strong plus
  • Proficiency in CAD design tools, such as CATIA or SolidWorks
  • Demonstrated experience developing solutions, documentation, and supporting the deployment of those solutions
  • Strong inclination for first principals’ problem solving
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and assembly
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for cost (DFC) principles

Expected Compensation

$24.04 - $33.65 + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
