What to Expect What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
The EHS Specialist is responsible for complex technical work within a wide range of EHS disciplines across Tesla’s Engineering & Design organization. The EHS Specialist supports day-to-day operations and compliance by managing several EHS programs at Tesla’s R&D buildings. EHS Specialists play a key role in maintaining compliance, the incident reporting and analysis process and work closely with Supervisors and Technicians to develop and implement corrective actions preventing reoccurrence. They will also work with Supervisors to implement best practices for a comprehensive EHS management system. The role is based in Fremont, CA, but will include travel to other sites as needed.
- Support day-to-day EHS operations and management in Tesla’s Engineering & Design organization
- Reduce risk in testing and pilot operations through qualitative and quantitative risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal environmental, health, and safety regulations at all times
- Partner with operations EHS (Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Compliance, Ergonomics, Hazardous Waste, Construction, etc.) for effective compliance monitoring and communication of site development
- Assist with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of laboratory facilities
- Lead incident analyses to determine root cause(s), prevention, and corrective measures
- Design safe workspaces and create policies for employees to follow that minimize job-related hazards
- 3+ years of experience within an Environment, Health and Safety role
- Degree in EHS or a related field or equivalent experience
- Building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities
- Thorough knowledge of Federal, State and local OSHA and EPA requirements
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
- Background in manufacturing, rapid prototyping, pilot-scale testing
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$80,000 - $120,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
