Mechanical design engineers on the Integration team drive product development from the architecture stage, through detail design and product launch. Our role is to converge product and component requirements into a compatible package, that is more than just the sum of its parts. Throughout the detail design phase, we continuously identify design risks and opportunities and lead them through to resolution.
What You’ll Do
  • Mechanical design and packaging of components to meet product and system level requirements, including package, ergonomics and legal requirements of a zone/area, while optimizing for product attributes
  • Use engineering first principles to evaluate design and engineering concepts, uncover design synergies across broad criteria sets
  • Mediate tradeoff situations and facilitate high level decision making consistent with product attribute targets and company goals
  • Collaborate widely across the organization with Program, Attribute, Design Engineering, Styling and Manufacturing team
  • Support virtual and physical builds at concept, buck and pre-production stages to validate key decisions and refine designs
What You’ll Bring
  • Education background in mechanical engineering, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive packaging, must have experience in full product lifecycle from concept through production
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and a robust first-principals approach
  • Highly collaborative, detail-oriented personality and excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in CAD modelling and assembly (CATIA V5 / 3DX is an advantage)
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • A big-picture mindset and passion for engineering of innovative and sustainable products
