Tesla participates in the E-Verify Program
What to Expect
As an Analysis Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of next generation Tesla products. You will review and optimize revolutionary products never-before executed. You will be brilliant both technically as a person, and as an engaged member in a diverse and dynamic cross-functional team environment. You will work with Vehicle Engineering teams to understand the performance of future vehicle designs and with Test Engineering teams to develop tests, correlate simulation models, and improve the predict.
What You’ll Do
  • Develop finite element models for analysis and optimization for both crash and durability load cases
  • Perform linear and nonlinear analysis on a range of structural components from subsystems to complete vehicles
  • Perform computer simulations related to vehicle frontal crash, side impact, roof strength, and HV battery systems on a vehicle level and verify the results from the simulations comply with multiple various crash and durability safety requirements.
  • Challenge established CAE methods and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Use CAE tools to optimize performance for the body, battery, closures, chassis, and other sub-systems. Quickly learn the tools necessary to execute, and modify, or create new tools as necessary
  • Support world-class engineering teams with design direction based on your analyses
  • Produce and perform concise management summaries and report-outs
What You’ll Bring
  • Education in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with detailed and applied knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics, Material Science and Numerical Methods in a product development environment
  • Detailed and applied software experience in CAE pre-processors, solvers, and post- processors in a product development environment. ANSA, PRIMER, LS-DYNA, HyperWorks and META preferred
  • Experience working with aluminum, steel, composite structures, and a variety of advanced joining methods for crashworthiness
  • Demonstrated ability to deconstruct complex crash test scenarios with good rationale and analytics. Demonstrated ability to work without supervision and with teams on problems that are not easy to solve and requiring innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability in iterative and collaborative engineering environments – success in roles requiring high levels of technical communication and interpretation of analytical results to design engineers and technical management
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver work on complex projects with extremely tight timing constraints. Excellent attitude, organization skills, and self-motivation
  • Basic level of working ability with scripting in Python or native software environments is a plus
