Sr. Site Reliability Engineer, VMware, Infrastructure

What to Expect

We are seeking a highly motivated, dependable and experienced Site Reliability Engineer (Windows and VMware) to join our IT Infrastructure team. You will be responsible for design, implementation and administration of production Windows and VMware environments worldwide. Extensive knowledge of VMware products and Windows Server, experience and skill in automation, capacity planning, performance monitoring, optimization and troubleshooting are essential.


What You'll Do
  • Design, implement and administrate VMware vSphere 6.x+ products, including vCenter
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS infrastructures
  • Maintain systems running Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022 as per configuration procedures and documented standards
  • Implement changes to the production environment as per the change management guidelines
  • Respond to outages within the SLA/OLA timelines and provide detailed postmortem reports
  • Perform proactive analysis of infrastructure capacity and performance
  • Develop process automation through scripting or programming
  • Initiate preventive maintenance on operating systems as well as manage repair of system/environment problems
  • Analyze system faults, troubleshoot and run diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems
  • Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in building and administering VMware and Windows Platforms
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, plus VMware and/or Microsoft certifications or equivalent experience
  • Good experience in documenting and implementing best practices
  • Strong Experience with Powershell, including PowerCli; Other scripting languages are desirable
  • Strong troubleshooting and proactive analytical skills
  • Ability to understand and solve complex technical issues
  • Experience in mission-critical operations, ideally within a 24x7 large scale distributed and clustered environment
  • Experience with other automation platforms is desirable
