What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support launch and post-launch quality activities for Tesla’s growing number of vehicle products and lines. This position will report to the Manufacturing Quality Engineering team within Tesla’s Vehicle Engineering organization.
In this role, you will provide support to the team in the execution of quality goals and objectives before, during, and after the launch phase for new products and lines. You will be expected to work cross-functionally and support the identification and prioritization of potential product and process failures and help drive both corrective and preventative actions.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead quality improvement projects from concept to completion, driving excellence in dynamic manufacturing environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within engineering and operations to design and implement robust quality systems, processes, and controls
  • Partner with design and manufacturing engineering teams to translate design requirements into functional quality controls for high-volume production
  • Perform quality baseline studies, PFMEAs, and root cause analyses to identify and address quality issues
  • Support initial builds, vehicle launches, and production ramp-ups to ensure quality targets are met
  • Develop and implement quality control strategies, including poka yokes, testing, tooling, and inspections
  • Work with engineers to identify and resolve quality issues with part design and manufacturing processes
  • Define and implement quality and process requirements for global operating standards


What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, quality, or a related industry
  • Experience in automotive systems, high automation manufacturing, and part design trade-offs preferred
  • Background in automotive high-volume quality manufacturing engineering or process engineering preferred
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to explain complex technical topics to a broad audience in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong quality and customer-focused mindset
  • Proactive and positive approach, with a bias for action and accountability for results
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed, particularly for new product and line launches
